How Pitchd uses cookies and similar technologies.
Last updated
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar tracking technologies are, how Pitchd uses them on the Pitchd Platform, and what choices you have in relation to them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. Cookies allow a website to recognise your device, remember your preferences, and understand how you interact with the site over time. They do not contain viruses and cannot access other files on your device.
Session cookies are temporary and are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them, and allow the Platform to remember your preferences across multiple visits.
In addition to cookies, the Pitchd Platform uses a small tracking image in some emails to record whether the message was opened, and analytics and advertising scripts that collect data about how visitors interact with the Platform. Details of the specific tools we use, and how each one works, are set out in Section 3 below.
| Category | Purpose | Can be disabled? |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Required for the Platform to function. Enable login, session management, booking flow, and payment processing. | No — disabling these will prevent the Platform from working |
| Functional | Remember your preferences and settings to improve your experience across visits — for example, which of your businesses you were last viewing if you manage more than one on Pitchd. Only set if you opt in. | Yes — off by default, opt in via the cookie banner or Cookie Settings |
| Analytics | We use Vercel Web Analytics, a cookieless, first-party analytics tool that measures aggregate page views and performance. No cookie is set on your device for this purpose. | Not applicable — no cookie is used |
| Marketing | Used by our advertising partner Meta (Facebook) to measure ad performance and deliver relevant Pitchd promotions to people who have interacted with our Facebook or Instagram ads. Only set if you opt in. | Yes — off by default, opt in via the cookie banner or Cookie Settings |
Some cookies on the Pitchd Platform are set by third-party service providers. These are governed by those providers' own privacy and cookie policies. Our key third-party providers include:
| Provider | Purpose | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Secure payment processing and fraud prevention | stripe.com/privacy |
| Google Maps | Location search and mapping functionality | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Google / Firebase | Sign-in where used, and push notifications | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Supabase | Platform database and application infrastructure | supabase.com/privacy |
| Vercel | Platform hosting, content delivery, and cookieless Web Analytics | vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy |
| Meta (Facebook) | Advertising pixel — ad conversion tracking and campaign performance measurement | facebook.com/privacy/policy |
On your first visit, the Pitchd Platform shows a cookie banner where you can accept all cookies, accept essential cookies only, or customise your choice by category. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link in the Platform footer. Functional and Marketing cookies are only set if you opt in — until you do, only Essential cookies (and the cookieless Analytics tool described in Section 3) are active.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, manage, delete, and block cookies. Please be aware that blocking all cookies will prevent essential cookies from working and may significantly affect your ability to use the Pitchd Platform.
Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies and does not track individual visitors, so there is nothing to opt out of for this tool.
To opt out of Meta's advertising cookies, you can adjust your ad preferences directly through Meta at facebook.com/adpreferences, or use a general advertising opt-out tool such as optout.aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (EU/UK).
Some cookies may collect or be associated with personal information. Where cookies are associated with personal information, that information is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy and the Australian Privacy Principles. We do not use cookies to build individual profiles for sale to third parties. We do not sell cookie data.
| Category | Retention period | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Up to 400 days | Login/session cookies refresh automatically while you remain signed in; they expire after this period of inactivity |
| Functional | Up to 12 months | Only set if you opt in; refreshed on each visit |
| Analytics | Not applicable | No cookie is set — Vercel Web Analytics is cookieless |
| Marketing | Up to 90 days | Only set if you opt in; set by Meta's advertising pixel |
Pitchd may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, legislation, or our business practices. When material changes are made, we will update the effective date at the top of this policy. The current version is always available at this page.
